Maggie moved to Devon in 2005, having lived and worked in Oxfordshire for 25 years.  A love of drawing since childhood led her to study painting at ‘ A ‘ level, which she intended to specialise in when she trained as a teacher. An inspirational ceramics tutor, however, changed Maggie’s pathway and ceramics became her main subject at college.

 

She worked as a primary school teacher and community dance teacher in Oxfordshire, whilst bringing up her family and was involved in art and dance projects in schools in the area.

 

When moving to Devon she joined the printmakers at Salcombe and exhibits with them as Press Gang Printmakers.

She specialises in drypoints, collagraphs and monoprints.

 

Maggie often incorporates textures in her mixed media art work, which involves layering torn prepared papers, sometimes fabric, photographs and text.
