At last we seem to be seeing some signs of Spring, after such a long winter and so much rain!
Hope you are all coping coming out of this dark time. We are supposed to be resting during that time and I am looking into living more with the seasons, so the Spring is a time for planning and moving forward gently.
I have had some time in the studio working on a new drypoint called " Meadow flowers " inspired by all the wild flowers and hedgerows here in Devon.
From the design, to transferring it to perspex by stratching into the surface, then printing proofs it takes a while.
Then I work out different ways of getting colour into the image so its a mix of background rolling, over the top of the black/green original ink which has been forced into the stratched image.
I will then handpaint some of the flowers.
This new print will be on show at the one day exhibition at the beautiful Mothecombe Gardens on the Flete Estate. I am sharing the stables space with the lovely Becca White, also a printmaker, on Tuesday 7th May.
Please do come and visit us.
Enjoy the sun, when its out and embrace the Springtime!
Take care,
Maggie x
