Here I am sitting in the studio, trying to get stuff sorted out to take into The Gallery @ Avon Mill, Loddiswell and I've got Wimbledon on in the background. It's hot, hot, hot outside and I'm going to head to the beach soon for a swim!
I must admit I find all the admin, which goes with my business, sometimes quite tedious, I would think most artists feel the same way. We are makers and that is what we want to do but unfortunately, these days, we have to keep on top of all things technical to be able to update a website ourselves to keep costs down.
So I'll apologise now if there are glitches! My lovely website designer will sort them out if I feel defeated.
What have I been doing in the studio?
I've been enjoying doing some monoprints and learning more about collagraphs, exploring different techniques and my aim is to produce good printing plates to create editions which I am pleased with.
I'm still coming to grips with linocut printing!
I have been investigating a tripod which I can attach to my phone so I can film some of my work in progress. Any recommendations are greatly received, there seem to be a lot of different models out there which are flimsy and break easily.
Outside the studio.
The lovely Cookworthy Museum, Kingsbridge, is now stocking some of my cards and books which is great. It's a wonderful place to visit so do go if you are in the area.
The garden is full swing, lots of watering, weeding and picking going on. The summer fruits are in abundance which is wonderful, I love them.
Hope you can enjoy this heatwave, keep cool and live for the moment.
Bye for now.
